Stamping with Michelle

More scallops!

I know this is another card with the scallop set, but I am having more fun with this set and I absolutely love this punch!  This is a card that my stamp club members made this month:

Materials: So Many Scallops, Lots of Thoughts
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue
Ink: Brocade Blue and Brilliant Blue pads
Accessories: Wild Wasabi Stitched Ribbon, Blue Bead Duos, Sticky Strip, Flower Fusion, Crystal Effects

The beads that you see are our new bead duos.  The bead duos are sold in pairs.  You get one container that has larger seed and bugle beads, and then the other container has coordinating microbeads.  I attached the beads to this card using the Sticky Strip.  I put a strip along the bottom edge of the cardstock.  Then I dumped the larger seed beads on the sticky strip, pressing them in a bit and shaking off the excess.  Then I used the micro beads to fill in.  If you look really closely, you can see what appears to be a frosty look in between the brighter beads.  Those are the microbeads.  I used crystal effects to attach the felt flower fusion flower to the center of the scallop image and crystal effects to attach a bead in the center.

Scallops and more Scallops

I'm sorry for missing my post on Monday.  My week has rather gotten away from me!  Here is my sample for today.  It is another sample using a Sale-a-bration stamp set.  This has probably been the most popular selection this time around!

Materials: So Many Scallops and Lots of Thoughts
Cardstock: Purely Pomegranate, Bashful Blue, Perfect Plum, River Rock
Ink: Purely Pomegranate
Accessories: Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Bashful Blue Striped Grosgrain

The scallop image on this card is actually the one that is designed for a winter or Christmas card with the snowflake in the middle.  However, I love the outside part of it and I wanted to show how you can make it more useful.  Stamp the scallop image on your paper.  Then you need to punch out the center with the 1 3/8" circle punch.  Then you can punch the scallop out with the scallop punch.  The River Rock scallops along the bottom of the plum square were also done using the Scallop punch.  I punched a 1 3/8" circle out of a scrap of River Rock.  Then I centered the Scallop punch around the circle and punched that out.  You are left with a narrow circle of scallops.  Use your scissors to separate the scallops and attach along the bottom of the card.  I think I separated the scallops two at a time on this card.

From the Kids....

My grandfather's birthday was earlier this month, and this is the card that I made for him.  I thought it came out pretty cute!


Materials: All in the Family, All in the Family Accessories, Fun and Fast Notes
Cardstock: Ruby Red, Handsome Hunter, Ivory Naturals
Ink: Basic Brown, Ruby red, Handsome Hunter, Close to Cocoa, Blush Blossom
Accessories: Whisper White grosgrain ribbon, Aged Copper Hodgepodge Hardware kit, Small Oval punch, Aquapainters, Handsome Hunter marker

Now if you are paying close attention, you'll notice that I have listed white ribbon in the materials list, but the ribbon on the card is hunter green. I wanted hunter ribbon to accent the hunter cardstock, but we don't carry hunter ribbon.  So.....I took the whisper white ribbon, and my Handsome Hunter marker and I colored the ribbon with the marker.  Voila!  Handsome Hunter ribbon!  Make sure that you color both sides so that the color stays even.

Birthday Sale-a-bration

If you like to stamp birthday cards, then you will definitely want to take a closer look at this stamp set.  It is the birthday whimsy set from our Sale-a-bration catalog.  It is absolutely adorable!  It really is a universal set and can be used for anything from children's cards to masculine cards.  Here's a sample I did recently using this set.

This would make a wonderful masculine birthday card.  You can't see it in the scan real well, but the presents have been stamped twice. Once on the white cardstock and then again on a separate piece of white cardstock.  The rectangles were then cut out and attached to the card with a dimensional.  Too cute!

Rub On Fun

February snows bring.....

an intense longing for bright, cheerful, happy stamping projects!  How's this one for you:

Materials: Merci, Curvy Verses
Cardstock: Sage Shadow, Whisper White
Ink: Apricot Appeal, Bashful Blue, Sage Shadow, Basic Black
Accessories: 1/2" circle punch, 3/4" circle punch, 1" circle punch, sponge daubers, Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon, Slit punch, 2-way glue pen, Dazzling diamonds glitter

This one even has a butterfly on it!  Now if that doesn't put you into a spring mood!  The background was created by punching various size holes in scrap paper and the sponging color through the holes with sponge daubers.  It is a very easy, but very effective way to create a background.

New Stamp a Stack

I am excited to once again offer a stamp a stack class on Friday, February 29 at 7:00pm!  During this class, you will have the opportunity to create a total of fifteen cards, three each of five designs.  I am generally making them all occassion, although one of the designs is geared more towards a birthday card.
