Fresh Cuts Wedding Card

So I've been talking about the fact that my cousin was getting married this past weekend.  The wedding was Saturday evening and it was an absolutely beautiful ceremony.  Saturday night, I sat down to create her wedding card.

Materials:  Curly Label Bundle and Fresh Cuts
Cardstock: Basic Grey, Going Grey, Baja Breeze, Shimmery White and Brushed Silver
Ink: Baja Breeze and Versamark
Accessories: Curly Label Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 1/16" circle punch, Silver Brads, Silver Embossing powder, White Taffeta ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

I was really quite pleased with how this card came out.  Unfortunately, the scan just doesn't do it justice.  The Curly Label I embossed in silver on the Brushed silver cardstock which really gave it a wonderful metallic effect.  That is the piece that I started it with.  The white cardstock is the Shimmery White which has a beautiful shimmer to it.  Think new fallen snow! I stamped the fresh cuts background on it and trimmed it close.  The curly label looked a little lost in the middle so I added the circle punch underneath which framed it nicely.  The Baja breeze strip adds some dimension to the card and brings out the blue in the background.  I had the card nearly complete and it still felt like it needed something.  I added a narrow layer of the Going Grey behind the Shimmery white and really felt like it pulled it all together.

Don't forget that today is the last day to order from the stamp sets that are 15% off.  I also still have space available in my Big Shot class on Thursday night.  The class fee is $20 and I'm planning 5 or 6 different projects utilizing the Big Shot.

Flight of the Butterfly Card

This is one of the cards that we did at my open house this summer.  I think this set is quite cute, and to add to the fun, it was another one that I got free at convention (gotta love that!)

Materials: Flight of the Butterfly
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, and Whisper White
Ink: Basic Brown and Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Scallop Edge puch, 1/8" circle punch, 1/16" circle punch, Vintage brads, mini glue dots

The pink edge is, of course, punched with the new scallop border punch and then I punched inside each scallop with the 1/8" circle punch.  The butterfly is stamped in Kiwi kiss and then I cut it out.  I attached it to the card with mini glue dots so that the wings would stay free.

Wild About You Gift Bag

So, as you know, I had that baby shower on Saturday afternoon.  I went shopping on Saturday morning for a gift and Kohl's was having some great sales and I was able to snag three adorable little outfits.  That just left the gift bag.  If there is one thing I hate to spend money on, it is gift wrap.  I just can't see buying expensive gift wrap when it is only going to get thrown away!  After my shopping excursion, I had a little bit of time so I headed over to Craft Mania to poke around.  While I was there, I found a plain white gift bag for $.50 and I decided that I would buy it and stamp it.

Cardstock: Bashful Blue and Whisper White
Ink: Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Tangerine Tango
Accessories: Bashful Blue Striped Grosgrain ribbon, Scallop Border Punch, Big Shot and Scallop #2 die, Sponges and Stampin' Dimensionals

Didn't it come out cute!  I was so into it, I even decided to stamp the tissue paper to match!  I've come to the conclusion that the thing that really makes this bag is that I didn't just stamp it.  I added the focal point image and the ribbon.  It took this bag from just another stamped bag to really cute!

Bundled in Love Gift Card

My stepbrother is expecting his first child in October, and tomorrow we have a baby shower for them.  So, this afternoon, I sat down to create a little gift card to go with my not-yet-purchased gift.  Yeah....gotta do that tomorrow morning! 

Materials: Bundled in Love
Cardstock: Bashful Blue and Whisper white
Ink: Basic Grey, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue
Accessories: Bashful Blue Gingham ribbon, Large Oval punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, 1/16" circle punch, Rich Regals brads, Aquapainters

This is the size card that fits in our little love note envelopes.  It is a 3" x 6" piece of cardstock folded in half, and it makes the perfect size for a little gift card!  I stamped my little duck and then punched him out with the large oval punch.  Gotta say, I'm having a lot of fun with that punch!

Flight of the Butterfly Scrapbook Page

I've been slowly sharing some of the projects that we made at convention this summer.  Here is an adorable scrapbook page that we made with the new set Flight of the Butterfly.  It is 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 sized specifically to fit in our new On Board Chipboard Album.  I ordered one and now I just need to find the time to decorate it!  I'll be sure to share when I do.  These albums are only $13.95 and come with 10 page protectors and then you can buy additional page protectors for only $4.95.  It would be a fantastic gift or theme album.  It would also be a wonderful album for somebody who is just getting started in scrapbooking.  It would use regular standard sized cardstock, and the pages are large enough to hold a couple of pictures, but not so large that it can be overwhelming to figure out how to fill them.

The Chipboard letters were inked using the Whisper White Craft pad and sponge dauber.  This also features our new Butto Bouquet buttons, and the new colors in our Flower Fusion felt flowers.

Big Shot Basket

I have been having lots of fun playing with my Big Shot, and I am constantly amazed at what it can do!  These little baskets I made for my open house last month and then filled them with little goodies for those lucky people who had RSVP'd that they would be attending.  You could put almost anything in these little cups. They are super easy to make and would make fantastic party favors!

Materials:
Cardstock: Rose Red, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Rose Red and Certainly Celery DSP
Accessories: Sticky Strip, Rich Regals Brads, Soft Subtles Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals

These are super easy to put together, and they hold quite nicely when use Sticky Strip.   There is a wonderful tutorial here that describes a great way to assemble these.  Thanks, Diana!

Big Shot Flowers

I have had more fun playing with my Big Shot over the last several weeks, and I'm constantly amazed at how quickly and easily you can create a fabulous project with it!  I will be holding a series of four classes beginning October 2 to teach you how to use the Big Shot.  We will also be exploring some of the more than 50 materials that can be cut with the big shot.  Each class is $20, but if you purchase the Big Shot bundle in the month of September, you can attend all four classes for free!

Embrace Life Wedding Card

I have a cousin who is getting married in a couple of weeks, and this past weekend we had a shower for her.  Of course, that meant I needed to get out my stamps and get busy! (Hint: You can be watching in a few weeks for the wedding card!)  I took out one of my new favorite stamp sets, Embrace Life, and this is what I came up with:

Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Basic Gray, Sahara Sand and Whisper White
Ink: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy and Certainly Celery
Accessories: Kraft taffeta ribbon, Aquapainters, Horizontal Slot punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

I watercolored the large flower with Baja Breeze and then I used Not Quite Navy to add some highlights.  I was really happy with the way it turned out.  I've been playing with the Basic Gray cardstock a bit more lately, and I really like the effect that it gives.

Christmas Card Stamp a Stack

My Christmas card stamp a stacks last year proved to be quite popular, so I'm excited to announce that I'll be holding them again!  The first one will be on Friday, September 19 at 7:00pm.  You'll have the opportunity to create 15 cards, 3 each of 5 designs and the class fee is $30 with $15 going towards an order you place that night.  Please RSVP by September 17, but space is limited and reservations will be taken on a first come first served basis.  Here are two of the cards that we will be making:
