Merry Christmas

It's been a busy holiday season, and I've been largely absent from posting lately.  I hope you'll forgive me, and I promise to be back to my regular schedule next week.

And now, at this time of Christmas, I just want to take a minute and thank you all for your support.  I recognize that times are a bit tougher and I'm grateful when you choose to spend with me.  I appreciate each of you and I look forward to serving you in the new year.  During this Christmas season, let's not forget the true meaning of Christmas.  "For unto us is born this day in the city of David, a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2:11)

Punch Pals Winter

I know I've been  a little negligent in posting lately.  Call it the busy-ness of the holiday season!  Here is a card that we did in my clubs this month, that is quite appropriate for the weather we are having today.

Materials: Punch Pals
Cardstock: Baja Breeze and Whisper White and Ski Slope DSP
Ink: Baja Breeze and Versamark
Accessories:  White Embossing powder and heat tool, Scallop Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle punch, Horizontal Slot punch, 1/16" circle punch, Antique brads, Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain, Stampin' Dimensionals

I had a bunch of this Ski Slope paper left over, and so I decided to design a card around it.  I love the monochromatic look to this card.  The "tis the season" image was embossed in white before being punched out with the coordinating punch.  Stampin' Dimensionals give it a little bit of pop on the card.

Retiring List, Sale and Free Shipping...oh my!

This morning, Stampin' Up released the retiring list for the Fall/Winter Catalog.  The easiest way to view it is to go to my website.  Click on the "Shop Now" button at the top right hand side of the screen.  If you then click on the link for Specials, you can choose "Retiring Stamp Sets".  You'll see all the sets that are retiring, including a picture of each. 

But, wait, there's more!  (Sorry, couldn't help myself).  From now until December 23rd, you will get 10% off all of the stamp sets that are retiring.  In addition, Stampin' Up is giving free shipping on all orders of $70 or more.  This is a fantastic time to get any of those stamp sets that are retiring that you just absolutely love, plus any extra goodies that you've been putting off.  Don't forget, there is still time to order for Christmas delivery  (you have until December 15).  And, of course, I also offer gift certificates in any denomination.

OK...now that we've got that announcement done.  Here is the sample for today:

Materials: Christ is Born
Cardstock: Real Red, Glorious Green, Summer Sun, and Whisper White
Ink: Real Red pad and Summer Sun marker
Accessories:  Real Red 1/4" grograin, blender pen

This is a very simple and straightforward card, but also really cute!  The poinsettia is all one stamp, but it is easy to get the yellow in the middle.  Ink the stamp like normal.  Then take a blender pen, and use it to remove the ink from the dots in the middle.  It may take a couple of times of cleaning the blender pen and going back and removing ink.  Once you've got all the ink off, use the Summer Sun marker to add yellow back on and then stamp!  Voila!  Two colors!

Deer Friends Christmas Card

I don't tend to work with hostess sets very often. I'm not sure why, but I just don't.  However, the Deer Friends set is quite cute, and when I saw a card similar to this one, I just knew it would be a perfect stamp a stack card.

Materials:  Deer Friends, Loads of Love
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Close to Cocoa, and Whisper White
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, and Chocolate Chip
Accessories: 3/4" circle punch, 1 1/4" Circle punch, White Grosgrain ribbon

Using punches with this set makes this card super fast and easy to work up.  All the images come with phrases written in a circle around the images, but I chose to make this card without those phrases.

There is still time to earn this adorable hostess set.  The new catalog doesn't come out until the middle of January, and the discontinuing list will be released next week.   I still have a couple of dates for the first week of January available.  It would be a perfect way to unwind from the holidays and get a last crack at some of the stamp sets that will be gone for good!  Let me know if you'd like to hostess a party and earn this fun Christmas set.

Christmas Cardinal

We have some really great sets in our Holiday mini catalog.  I think of them all, the Christmas Cardinal set is my favorite!  Here is a card that we made at my Stamp a Stack class a few weeks ago.

Materials: Christmas Cardinal
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Confetti White
Ink: Basic Brown, Riding Hood Red
Accessories: 1/16" circle punch, Vintage Brads, Earth Elements Watercolor Crayons, Aquapainters, Riding Hood Red 1 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon, Big Shot and Top Note Die

The stamp is designed to already have shading in it, so all you really need to do is add a little bit of color.  We used the watercolor crayons, but I think this would come out equally well with the Stampin' Pastels.  Or, if you embossed it first, you could add some rich color with the markers.

There is still time to place orders in time for Christmas delivery.  The last day to order and still be sure to have it back in time I'd say is Friday, December 12.  Also remember, I can issue gift certificates in any denomination!
