Happy Birthday, Elijah!

Yesterday was my Elijah's birthday.  He turned five!  I know many of you have been with me long enough to remember when I was pregnant with him and can appreciate this moment with me.  Elijah is such a joy in my life, and he makes me laugh every day.  Would you like to see the birthday card I made for him?

Materials: Under the Stars, Circle Circus, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Family Accessories

Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Close to Cocoa, Taken with Teal, Confetti White

Ink: Basic Gray, Crushed Curry, Close to Cocoa, and Taken with Teal

Accessories: Modern Label Punch, Natural Hemp Twine, Aquapainter, and Stampin' Dimensionals

This card actually came together quite quickly, and the nice thing about Elijah only being five is that I was able to create it practically right in front of him! LOL!

Summer Stamp Camp Announcement

Wow!  I can't believe it has been almost two weeks.  I am sorry to have gone MIA!  Our church's Vacation Bible School program was last week, and I direct it.  I came home everyday and practically collapsed on the couch.  Round about Wednesday or Thursday I realized that a blog post probably wasn't going to happen!

I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weather!  I am excited to share today's project with you.  This is a project that I first created in Hawaii, and I just knew that I needed to incorporate it into a class.  When the new catalog came out, I did it up in new papers and stamps, and I absolutely love the result:

Isn't it just adorable?  I've put dividers inside so you could use it to store cards or somebody even suggested coupons.  I just know that you are going to love making this tote!

The class will be held on Wednesday, August 19 at 6:30pm.  The class fee is $20, but if you place a $40 order that night, your class is free!  If you register a friend I've never met, I'll have a free gift for you.

I'm also working on filling my clubs for next fall.  Stamp Club is a great way to place regular orders, get hostess benefits and enjoy a fun girls night out!  If you would be interested in more information, let me know.

Hawaii Card Project

Today's card sample was actually one that I created while I was in Hawaii, but I didn't want to share it at that time because it used a new stamp set.  Well, now that the new catalog has been unveiled and you can finally purchase this set, I think it is time to share! 

Materials:  For All You Do
Cardstock: Old Olive, So Saffron, Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Rose Red
Accessories: Pumpkin Pie ribbon, Neutrals brads, Rich Regals brads, Stampin' Dimensionals

The larger flower was created using an older technique, but one that I had forgotten about, called Kissing.  I first inked up the flower stamp in Pumpkin Pie ink and then stamped it off once on scrap paper.  Then I inked the polka dot stamp in Pumpkin Pie and I stamped it onto the flower the stamp, which left polka dots behind.  The I stamped the flower on my cardstock.  It is a really easy technique, but one that can leave a big impact.

I've got a couple of other Hawaii projects that I'll try to share over the next week or so.

Christmas in July

I have been asked to hold a Christmas in July class, and I am happy to announce that it is on my calendar!  This will be a great way to get a jump start on your Christmas cards.  We will be making a total of twelve cards, three each of four designs.  In addition, we will make a gift card holder and quick and cute ornament.  This class will be held on Wednesday, July 29 at 7:00pm.  The class fee is $30 with $15 going towards an order placed that night.  Please RSVP by July 24.

More Watercolor Roses

Wasn't it nice to see the sunshine this weekend?  Unfortunately, it is raining again today, but I've got something that will put sunshine on your face.  Check out this week's Deal of the Week.  You can purchase the Big Shot Doctor's Bag for only $49.99!  That is a nearly 30% savings.  The doctor's bag is great for storing your Big Shot and fantastic if you'll be toting it anywhere.  But, you'll want to hurry!  This deal of the week is only available through Sunday, July 12.

Now, I've got another watercolor roses sample for you.  I was asked to share this technique at my upline's meeting a couple of weeks ago.  Since the new catalog was around the corner and I had just gotten my new In Colors in, I naturally began playing with those color combinations.

Materials: Fifth Avenue Floral
Cardstock: Dusty Durango, Rich Razzleberry, Sahara Sand and Shimmery White
Ink: Dusty Durango and Veramark pads; Dusty Durango and Rich Razzleberry ink refills
Accessories: White embossing powder, white taffeta ribbon, Big Shot, Top Note Die, Backgrounds 1 Texturz plate

I love how this combination came out.  If you'd like to see the directions, I linked to a video tutorial in this post.

The shape that I laid the rose on was created with the top note die.  I cut out one top note, and then I turned it 90 degrees and centered it on the die.  I ran it through the Big Shot again, and that is what I had!

New Catalog....and an Open House

Well, it is official!  The new catalog launched yesterday.  I've been a demonstrator now for twelve years, and I think this is one of the best catalogs I've ever seen.  There are so many cool new things....including the cutest party invitation and decoration kits (pirate for a boy, princess for a girl).  Be sure to click on the link for the catalog and check them all out!  There will also be each week of July, a Deal of the Week.  Be sure to check back every Monday to see what is on special!

I'm also excited to announce an my next Open House event.  I'll be holding this on Saturday, July 18, from 9:00am to Noon.  I'll have two make and takes using our fabulous new In Colors and some of our new stamps and accessories.  I'll also have my discontinued merchandise out for sale.  When you purchase discontinued merchandise, I will give you back half the value of your purchase in the form of a credit that you  can use that day on a new catalog order.  An RSVP is not strictly necessary, but if you plan to come, if would be fantastic to hear from you so I'll have a better idea of how many make and takes to plan.  Bring a friend that I've never met, and I'll have a free gift for both you and your friend (again...it'll be helpful to know if you're coming and bringing a friend).  You definitely won't want to miss it!

I don't now if you can see the shimmer, but I added a little bit of glitter (yes, glitter) to the flower and it really gives it a nice little extra zip.
