September Scrapbook Club Pages

My clubs will be beginning again in September, and this year I decided to start doing something a little different for my scrapbook club.  I plan to design the pages 2-3 weeks ahead and then post them here on my blog.  This will allow me to incorporate fresh new things on the pages since I'll have time to order extra.  Additionally, I thought it would be nice to post them so that my club members can see the theme and colors and bring appropriate pictures along if they so choose. 

Yesterday, I sat down and created the first set of pages.  I had a blast, and I'd forgotten how much fun it is to scrapbook when you are actually working with pictures!  Here it is:

 

Being September, my thoughts naturally turned towards the beginning of the school year.  My Elijah started Kindergarten on Wednesday, so it was a big day in the Breton household!  If you don't have back to school pictures that you want to scrapbook, bring fall pictures along that will still match the colors.  We can easily make some adaptations to make it work.

In case you want to know the sizes I cropped my pictures to, here they are:

The single photo of my son by himself is a standard 4"x6".  The two small square photos under the chalkboard are each 3 1/4" x 3 1/4".  The two larger photos of all three kids are both 4"x6" and the other square picture is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2".

Scrapbook club meets on the third Monday of each month, which will be September 21.  I do still have one slot available if you would like to join us each month as a full fledged member.  However, if you would just like to come to a class here or there, you are welcome to join us and either pay a $10 class fee or place a $15 minimum order like everybody else.

Summer Fun

I hope you are enjoying this nice warm summer weather, now that it has finally arrived!  My kids start school tomorrow, and it supposed to be blazing hot!  Here is a card that I created that I think speaks to the warm summer weather.  Some of you may recognize it from my open house in July:

 

Materials: Greenhouse Garden and Teeny Tiny Wishes

Cardstock: Real Red, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White

Ink: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, and Real Red

Accessories: Big Shot and Top Note die, Playground Designer Buttons and Mini Glue dots

I liked this card so much, that it became one of my swap cards when I went to convention and it was very well received.

Back from Convention

Wow!  Sorry guys!  I didn't think it would take me a whole week to recover from convention!  I do know that it took me a couple of days to recover from my red eye flight home.  Now I know why they call it a red eye!  I left Salt Lake City at midnight and I finally arrived in Portland around 10:30 the next morning.  I got home, at a little bit of lunch and promptly took a two hour nap!  Obviously that was enough to be restorative because Monday morning I slept until 10:00.  My kids were so good to me!  And then, on top of it, around 2:00 I was feeling sleepy again and I laid down on the couch for another two hour snooze!  It was Tuesday before I felt like myself again.  Convention, however, was fantastic!  It is always wonderful to see old friends and make new ones.  We had some great classes and fantastic make and takes that I hope to work into my business in the coming months.  I think one of my favorite things was the sneak peek we got at the new "My Digital Studio" scrapbooking software that will be released later this fall.  I am so excited to get my hands on this product.  The things that you can do with are just amazing!  And, it is not limited to just scrapbooking. You will be able to do cards and calendars as well.  Additionally, you will be able to upload your designs to our printer and have the professionally printed and bound.  So exciting!

Cardstock: Pink Passion, Tempting Turquoise, Gable Green and Whisper White

Ink: Pink Passion and Tempting Turquoise

Accessories: Tempting Turquoise ribbon, 1" circle punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

This was a page I designed for a scrapbooking workshop I did on Thursday.  I think it came out quite good, if I do say so myself :) and everybody loved it.  I also made this card as a companion piece:

 

This just shows you how easy it is to turn a scrapbook page into a card or a card into a scrapbook page

Another Stamp Camp Project

There is still time to register for my Stamp Camp that I'm holding later this month.  The date on that will be August 19 at 6:30.  The class fee is $20, but if you purchase $40 or more at the class, your class is free.  I do need an RSVP by this Friday, August 7, so I can have time to order the supplies.

Materials: Circle Circus and Curvy Verses

Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, and Whisper White; and Razzleberry Lemonade DSP

Ink: Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry

Accessories: Melon Mambo ribbon, Wide Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, glue stick, Big Shot and Top Note

I created 1 1/4" squares for this card, glued them to a piece of white cardstock, and then ran the whole thing through the Big Shot.

I am also planning on hosting an opportunity night on Monday, August 17.  If you have ever wondered what is involved in becoming demonstrator, this would be a great opportunity to get some more information.  Please let me know if you are interested.
