Remembering Summer

Boy oh boy...have I ever been deliquent!  I'm sorry somehow the days just got away from me.  I'm still waiting for things to slow down a bit since school started, but I'm beginning to think that isn't going to ever actually happen!

First I want to announce a class on the Big Shot that I'm titling Big Shot School!  If you ever wanted to learn more about the using the Big shot, this will be the class for you.  The class fee is $20, but if you've purchased the big shot from me, you can attend for $10.  We'll be creating four projects, plus I'll be sharing tips and tricks of the trade!  This class will be held on Thursday, October 1 at 7:00.

I've also been busy playing with the new My Digital Studio software.  This is set to be released on October 1, and you are absolutely going to love all that it can do!  I have had so much fun!  I've got a few more pages to put together, and then I'll be ready to submit my book for printing so I'll have a sample to share.

Materials: For All you Do

Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, and Whisper White; Razzleberry Lemonade DSP

Ink: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry and Always Artichoke

Accessories: Eyelet Scallop edge punch, Crushed Curry ribbon

This was one of the first samples I created with the new In Colors when I got my preorder in June.  Isn't it just so fun and happy!  Now that fall is officially here, I need a ray of happiness to remind me that warmer weather will come again!

My first digital scrapbook pages!

Oh my goodness!  I am so excited!  My new copy of our digital scrapbooking software, called "My Digital Studio", arrived today, and I've been playing all afternoon!  This software is seriously addictive!  You can literally plug and play with your photos...by which I mean you can select a template and plug your photos in, change the journaling, and your done.  Or, you can modify the template or even start from scratch.

The software will also allow you to create cards, calendars, slide shows and much more.  I'm still learning, but I'm excited to share more with you in the coming weeks and months.

Here are my pages that I created today:

 

 

The first page is heavily modified from the original template and the second page I created from scratch to coordinate with the first.  I spent a couple of hours on these pages, but that was with the learning curve and trying to figure things out!  The bow in the middle of the second page is waiting for me to figure out how to shrink the strip of ribbon down so that it will just wrap around the Old Olive background paper.  Stampin Up is going to be offering a certification program that I fully intend to take, so if you purchase this software, not only will you get a fantastic program, but you'll get ME!  I can help you through the software and answer any questions you may have.

My Digital Studio will be released on October 1.  It is $79.95, but if you host a $400 workshop between October 1 and November 30, you can purchase it for half price!  I've still got plenty of dates available if you'd like to do that.

Another Stamp a Stack sample

I know it's only September, but it really is never too early to start planning your Christmas cards!  I thought I'd tease you with another sample of the cards we'll be making at my stamp a stack next Wednesday night.

 

This one uses quite a few elements from the Big Shot.  First off I cut a top note out of Real Red cardstock.  Then I ran it through again using the new Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder.  I absolutely love how this came out!  The background is stamped with a candy cane from the Holiday Blitz set in Pretty in Pink and also Real Red.

The middle piece is also cut out using a top note.  I just put a strip across the middle of the top note, cut it out and then it got mounted on the card going across in the other direction.

Hope you can make it to the stamp a stack!  They are always lots of fun.  The class fee is $30, and prepayment by September 11 is encouraged.  After September 11, the class fee goes up to $35.

September Christmas Stamp a Stack Class

Well, now that September is here, it is about time to begin our focus on Christmas.  Oooh...I could just hear you groan.   I know, I know....but it always has a way of creeping up on us before we know it and it pays to be ready early!

In the spirit of early preparedness, I am announcing the first of three stamp a stack classes.  This class will be held on Wednesday, September 16.  How about a sneak peek at one of the samples:

 

This is a very quick and easy card and would be a simple one to replicate and mass produce.

We will be making a total of 15 cards, 3 each of 5 designs.  The class fee is $30 with $15 going towards an order placed that night.  Prepayment by September 11 is appreciated, after which time the class fee will increase to $35.  You can mail me a check or I can also accept Paypal.  When you contact me to reserve your spot, we can make those arrangements.

As a special bonus this year, if you attend all three of my Christmas stamp a stack classes, you will be eligible to come to a tag class in December for free!  Would you like to see a peek at that project?

 

If you want to get them in your calendar, the other dates for my stamp a stack classes will be October 21 and November 18 with the tag class to be on December 2.
