Hey everyone!
Time really flies. I'm sorry to have been AWOL. A couple of weeks ago, I was out of town for the weekend at a workshop. I am training to be a birth doula, and the workshop was the first step. (You can see my doula website here) I returned home on Sunday night, and then on Monday and Tuesday, I was with my cousin as she gave birth to her first baby. Talk about a whirlwind week. I've been fighting to catch up every since!
Yesterday, I went to see my cousin and I had a baby gift to bring to her. I decided that instead of paying for a gift bag, I would make my own box.
I used the Sending Love Specialty paper from the Occasions Mini catalog. It was a simple box to make, and the glitzy paper lent itself really well. I used the entire 12x12 sheet to make the box (one for the top, one for the bottom). I scored 1 1/2" in on all four sides, and then I cut along the score lines on two opposite sides. Fold the sides up and you've got your box. The box wasn't quite deep enough, so I'll have to remember to score at least 2" next time. I did trim 1/16" off two sides of the piece that I was going to make the bottom with, so it would come out slightly smaller than the top for a better fit.
Here is the card that I made to go with it:
Materials: Forest Friends and Short and Sweet
Cardstock: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White and Sending Love Specialty DSP
Ink: Regal Rose
Accessories: Small Oval punch, Designer Label punch, Scallop Circle punch and Stampin' Dimensionals
I actually don't have a whole lot of baby stamps, but I just gotten the Forest Friends set in and I thought baby bunny would make a great focal point for a baby card.
Don't forget that today is the last day to order and take advantage of Sale-a-bration!
Happy Stamping!
Michelle
