Awash with Flowers Easel Card

This is the final card that I created for my Awash with Flowers class.  I was particularly pleased with it, so I wanted to make sure that I shared it with you!

 Materials: Awash with Flowers and Teeny Tiny Wishes

Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Whisper White and Sahara Sand cardstock and Razzleberry Lemonade DSP

Ink: Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Sahara Sand and Crushed Curry pads and Basic Black marker

Accessories: 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Chocolate Chip 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

This is a really fun design that is really easy to create.  You start with a piece of cardstock that is cut 4 1/4" x 11", so cut in half the long way.  Fold it in half like you would a card.  Score the front of the card at 2 3/4" (which is half way up).  This will get folded such that you have a mountain fold on the top of your card.  You can just make out the edges of the mountain fold in my sample above.  Now create the actual front of your card on a piece of cardstock that is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  This will get attached to the bottom of the mountain fold, so when you close your card, you will actually have a double layer on the top.

The design for this front I got from another demonstrator on our Stampin' Connection board, a demonstrator only message board run by Stampin' Up.  I just love how she turned the flowers on their sides and made them into butterflies!  I used Stampin' Dimensionals on the three flowers on the bottom (or inside of the card) to help prop the top up.

Butterfly Beauty

Spring is definitely here, and it won't be long until we start seeing butterflies.  In case you missed them, here is a butterfly card to tide you over!

Cardstock: So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie and Confetti Cream

Ink: Old Olive, So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie

Accessories: Beautiful Butterflies die and Big Shot, Flower brads, 1/16" circle punch

This was a card we did at a stamp a stack class, must have been last summer.  I've been holding on to it for a while!

A belated Easter Share

I know that Easter has come and gone, but this card is so happy and springy that I thought I would share it anyway.  You could easily use it for another occasion just by changing the sentiment:

I love how fresh and happy Apricot Appeal makes this card.  Apricot Appeal is one of the colors slated to be retired with the change of the catalog.  Be sure to order this color so that you will have plenty to make your own fresh, spring cards!

Awash with Flowers Card Class

This month Stampin' Up has a Step into Spring promotion.  In addition to four great stamp sets being available at 20% off, you have the opportunity to purchase a set that will be available in the new catalog in July for this month only.  In addition, you can earn this set for free when you have a workshop that totals at least $350.  It is an extremely versatile set, and I think you are going to like it.

I liked it so much that I decided to create a class around it:

At this class we will be making five cards, plus the box in the back to hold them all. (Yes, there are only four in the picture...I've still got to design another one!).  I paired this set with the Teeny Tiny Wishes set which means that you can create cards for virtually any occasion.

This class will be held on Wednesday, April 21 at 7:00pm at my house.  The class fee is $20 and must be prepaid by Friday, April 16 to reserve your spot.

Finally, today Stampin' Up announced a "Color Renovation" to our color line.  Beginning with the new catalog, we will have four color collections of 10 colors each.  A total of 30 colors will be retiring.  We will have ten previous In Colors returning (including three of this year's) as well as five brand new colors.  I am really, really excited for this shake up in our color line.  These changes will freshen the color line and make it much more relevant to the colors around us today.
