Another Thoughts and Prayers Sympathy

I always find that Sympathy cards are the most difficult to make.  How do you create a card that is properly subdued without being depressing?  My favorite stamp set for sympathy cards is Thoughts and Prayers and when I needed to make a sympathy card this week, it was the first set I turned to.  Here is my final result:

Materials: Thoughts and Prayers, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride and Very Vanilla

Ink: Baja Breeze pad, Baja Breeze marker, Blushing Bride marker, and Pear Pizzazz marker

Accessories: Framed Tulips embossing folder and Big Shot, Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta ribbon, 1/8" circle punch, Scalloped Oval punch, 1 3/4" x 7/8" oval punch, Mini pearls

 

I think a lot of what makes a sympathy card is the colors you choose.  For this card, and for most sympathy cards, I tend towards a main color of Baja Breeze.  I find that shade of blue to be soothing.  Pear Pizzazz works as a nice complementary color, and the Blushing Bride added a touch of cheerfulness without being overwhelming.  I'm fairly pleased with how this card came out....now to figure out what to write on the inside.

Rag Purse Class

For the past six months are so, Stampin' Up! has had as part of our product line fabric that coordinates with our stamps and paper.  I am excited to finally offer a class that utilizes this fantastic product!

Have you seen these rag purses?  They are super cute and fairly easy to create.  Here are the details on this class:

 

Date:    Saturday, May 7

Time:    9:00 am

Class Fee:    $30

RSVP:     Your paid RSVP must be received by Wednesday, April 27.  

 

You will have your choice of either the Sweet Stitches or Springtime Vintage fabrics.  You will need to bring your own sewing machine as well as a few other assorted sewing supplies.  A list of necessary supplies will be given to you when you register.  

As long as you have a general working knowledge of how to operate your sewing machine, you can sew this purse.  It is very forgiving and a lot of fun!  I'm really excited to offer this new kind of class!
