Good bye to Summer

It is just so hard to believe that summer is drawing to an end.  My kids started school yesterday, and that always feels like that end of summer to me.

Isn't this card just so fresh and summery?  We've been making this card in my workshops this month, and everyone has loved it.  This card is created with the Strength and Hope set, and $2.00 from the purchase of each of those sets goes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (visit www.bcrfcure.org for more information).  I tried to create a card that didn't use the butterfly as a focus, and I'm really pleased with the results.  The Curvy Verses set allowed everyone to choose just the right sentiment to add to their card so it would work for the occasion they needed it for.

Christmas Sneak Peek

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to give you another sneak peek sample.  My husband has been on vacation this week (and next!) and we've been rather on the go.

Anyhoo....this card features two new products:

Materials: Frostwood Lodge

Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke and Whisper White

Ink: Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke

Accessories: Silver mini brads, Cherry Cobbler seam binding, 1 1/4" square punch, Mica flakes

Did you notice the "snow" on the tree?  That is created with our new Mica Flakes.  You get a nice big container of them for only $3.50, so this is definitely something you are going to want to add to your wish list!

I also wanted to point out how I created the flag with "Merry Christmas" on it.  It is actually really easy, and when someone showed me how to do it, it was one of those "hand-to-forehead" moments.  Start with a strip of paper the width that you want your flag.  Then you use a square punch turned sideways to punch the angles.  Can you see it?  You can use any square punch, but I usually reach for my 1 1/4" punch.

Sneaky Peak

I had a great afternoon yesterday playing with all my new toys.  I created several cards that I hope to share over the next few weeks.  And, as promised, here is the first one!

Materials: Gently Falling and Hand-Penned Holidays

Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, and Very Vanilla card stock; Spice Cake DSP

Ink: Early Espresso and More Mustard pads, Early Espresso Marker

Accessories: Color Spritzer tool, 1/8" Early Espresso taffeta, Stampin' Dimensionals

 

I have to admit that I am an absolute sucker for leaves.  There is just something so satisfying about stamping them...I can't explain it.  Anyway, as soon as I saw this set, I knew I would need to order it.  Imagine my delight when I learned it would be a part of a product bundle that I could order at 40% off!  Saweet!  Shelli showed us a card at convention that was similar to this but used the fabrics.  I decided to use the coordinating DSP instead.

The other great new product on this card is the Hand-Penned Holidays stamp (the Give Thanks).  Isn't it gorgeous! This is another one you won't want to do without.  It is a  set of four and makes a wonderfully elegant accent to any card.

Retired Merchandise for Sale!

I finally finished updating the album with my retired merchandise that I have for sale.  You can click on the link on the top of the blog that says "Retired Merchandise" and it will take you to the album with all the photos.  I have six pages of items for sale!  I have listed the price to have them shipped to you, but, obviously, local pick up is free.
