Happy Monday!

Happy Monday, everyone!  The Christmas season is officially upon us, and I have lots of Christmas cards that I've done this fall that I want to try to get up on the blog for you.  Here is the first:

Materials: Christmas Lodge and Petite Pairs

Cardstock: Lucious Limeade, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White

Ink: Lucious Limeade and Cherry Cobbler markers, Basic Black pad

Accessories: Designer Frames Embossing Folders and Big Shot, Extra Large oval punch, Cherry Cobbler Quilted ribbon, stamping sponge, and mini glue dots

 

After I had done up and scanned this sample, I actually went back and added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the roof and it made a big difference on this card. So, if you do this one, be sure to add the glitter!

A little detour....

Right now, it is pretty much all Christmas, all the time!  However, I did get the chance last weekend to take a little break.  My brother and his wife are expecting their first baby, and we had a baby shower for them on Saturday.  Here is the card that I made:

Materials: A Word for You

Cardstock: Pink Piroutte, So Saffron and Whisper White

Ink: Pink Piroutte and So Saffron

Accessories: Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder and Big Shot, Designer Label Punch, Sponge Daubers, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 2-way glue pen, Stampin' Dimensionals, Pretty in Pink 5/8" Satin ribbon, and Whisper White 3/8" taffeta

 

I don't have a lot of baby stamps, so it is always an interesting challenge for me to come up with an appropriate card.  I used sponge daubers to add a little color to the dry embossing from the Elegant Bouquet folder.  You can't see it really well, but I also added glitter on parts of the embossing.  I hate to say it, but as much as I dislike glitter, it really makes a card something special!

Christmas Advent Calendar Class

I don't know about you, but I just love Advent Calendars.  There's the thrill of counting each day until Christmas arrives and the excitement of finding out what is behind each secret door.  Advent calendars must be about as traditional as they get!  Now you can create an keepsake advent calendar that will be treasured for many years to come.

Here are the details for this class:

                    Date: Tuesday, November 29, 2011

                    Time: 6:30pm

                    Place:  Michelle's House

                    Class Fee: $25 prepaid by November 26 or $30 at the door

You will have a choice of what you put behind each door.  You can put a scripture reference that will lead you through the Christmas story one day at a time.  Or you could put a fun Christmas activity that will help you to slow down and really enjoy the season.  Either way, it will be a calendar you look forward to using again every year!

Final Christmas Stamp a Stack Class

My final Christmas Stamp a Stack class of this season is coming up, and you won't want to miss it!  Here's a sneak peek of one of the cards we will be making:

Isn't it pretty?  Here are the details on this class:

 

        Date:  Friday, November 18

        Time:  7:00pm

        Place:  Michelle's house

        Class Fee:  $30 if prepaid by November 16 and $35 at the door

 

We will make a total of fifteen cards in this class, three each of five designs.  All your materials are included, and you also will receive a $10 credit on an order placed that evening.  Register to come with a friend for twice as much fun!

Funky AND Eclectic

Typically, funky eclectic is not the type of card that I create.  But, my daughter's birthay is this weekend, and I wanted to do something a little different.  That is when I remembered the Best Friends Forever set I had gotten at convention (yes for free!).  I didn't think it would be a set I would use very much, but when I pulled it out, I found it worked quite nicely.

Materials: Best Friends Forever and Petite Pairs

Cardstock: River Rock, Whisper White, and Island Indigo

Ink: River Rock, Island Indigo and Cherry Cobbler

Accessories: Cherry Cobbler quilted ribbon, Basic Pearls

I decided I wanted the base of the card to be River Rock, but then I was a little stuck on the rest of the colors.  So, I pulled out my catalog and took a look at where our concept artists had used River Rock. I started with the DSP packages, and found exactly what I needed.  These colors are the same as in the Timeless Type DSP.

Then, I just started playing, and I found the card came together rather quickly.  I quite pleased with the funky look I achieved.
