Easy boxed set of cards

One of the new products in the Occasions Mini catalog is the Simply Sent Create & Keep kit.  This kit includes everything to make a boxed set of 10 adorable cards.  Here is the picture of the page in the mini catalog:

The kit comes with 10 printed cards, 2 sheets of self adhesive die cuts, 10 designer envelopes, 4 dividers and the box.  I put this together a couple of weeks ago, and here is what the box looks like:

I had a lot of fun putting this kit together.  I actually had a few extra die cuts, and I was able to make three extra cards to put in my box.  Too cool!  This kit would make a great gift, either put together and given completed, or for somebody got actually be able to create themselves.  The only additional supply you would need would be some adhesive to put the box together.

Fresh Vintage

Now that we are a couple of days into Sale-a-bration, it is high time that I show you a sample made with Sale-a-bration supplies!

This is actually one of the cards we are making at my workshops right now.  Virtually everything (with the exception of the card stock and punch) is a Sale-a-bration item.  The words come from a stamp set called Outlined Occasions.  The image in the center of the flowers is from the Fresh Vintage set.  The background paper is from the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper and the ribbon and brad comes from the Everyday Enchantment ribbon and brad pack.  As matter of fact, when you host a qualifying workshop during Sale-a-bration, you can get the Fresh Vintage and both Everyday Enchantment products as a free bundle in addition to all your other hostess benefits.

It's time to Sale-a-brate!

Yummy cupcakes!

Last week, my niece turned two years old.  This was the niece who's birth I attended that put me on the path to becoming a birth doula.  She will always hold a special place in my heart!

She is a very busy, very vibrant two year old and I needed a fun card for her!

Materials: Easy Events

Cardstock: Pink Pirouette, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White

Ink: Basic Black pad and Pink Pirouette, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party markers

Accessories: Big Shot and Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Whisper White taffeta ribbon, 2-way glue pen, Dazzling Diamonds glitter and Stampin' Dimensionals

 

I don't have a whole lot of stamp sets that will make a fun card for a two year old, but when I pulled out Easy Events, I knew this cupcake was just the ticket.  This is a fairly simple design, and one that I turn to regularly.  Now the astute among you will notice that I listed in my supplies Whisper White ribbon.  However, the ribbon on the card is yellow.  I wanted yellow ribbon to tie the whole card together and yet I didn't have any....so I made some!  I took my Whisper White taffeta, cut off a length, and then used my Daffodil Delight marker to color it.  Quick, easy, and efficient!

An early valentine's day idea

Are you all enjoying the snow today?  I don't mind the first couple of storms...actually, we've been so busy that I welcomed the thought of a snow day!

Here is another of the cards that we did at my stamp club this month:

Materials: PS I Love You

Cardstock: Real Red, Pink Pirouette, and Whisper White

Ink: Real Red

Accessories: Big Shot and Adorning Accents Edgelits and Embossing folders, Real Red 1/4" grosgrain, Large Heart punch, Modern label punch, Cherry Cobbler dazzling details and stampin' dimensionals

This is quite a fun little set with lots of great valentine images.  Let me show you a picture of it:

The wood mount set is $34.95 and the clear mount set is $27.95 and you can purchase it by clicking on the shop now button on the left side of the blog.  

The edgelits are a great new product as well and I've been having a lot of fun with them.  Pair them with the new embossing folders for even greater impact.  The set that I used on this card is fairly easy to use.  The other pair is a scallop shape and here's a tip to help you line it up so that the embossed edge will match the cut edge.  When working with these, you want to cut first and then emboss, but it can be hard to figure where to place the edgelit so that the embossed edge will line up properly.  Take the the embossing folder and place it right on the very edge of the card (this part will get cut off) and use your fingers to press it into the edge.  This will leave a very faint impression that you can use as a guide to line up the edgelit.  

Finally, the Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details adds a fun bit of zing to the card.  I am totally in love with my Dazzling Details, and at $2.50 a bottle it is an inexpensive way to dress up a card.  The original clear Dazzling Details was featured in the Holiday mini catalog, but it did carry over and is still available for purchase.

I am planning on starting another club group that will meet during the daytime.  At the moment, I'm leaning towards meeting on the first Tuesday of the month at 1:00, but I haven't quite settled yet.  If you would like to participate in this club, let me know.  We will be doing the exact same cards that the evening groups do, but just meet during the day.

Happy Occasions Mini Catalog Day

Wow...I guess preparing for the holidays really got ahead of me.  I just checked and I see that I didn't even post once in December.  Sorry about that!

Anyhoo!  Today is the first day of the new Occasions Mini catalog.  There are some really amazing products that I am super excited about and I can't wait to share with you.

This is card featuring all new supplies and is one we did at my stamp club last night:

Materials: Apothecary Art and Creative Elements

Cardstock: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride

Ink: Basic Black, Lucky Limeade, Blushing Bride and So Saffron

Accessories: Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon, Dazzling Details, Labels Collection framelits, Finial Press Textured Embossing Folder, Stampin' Dimensionals

The main focal point of this card is done with the new framelits from the Occasions Mini catalog.  We have two different styles, hearts and the labels, and each comes with six differents sizes that layer just beauitfully.  Of course, these are designed to work with the Big Shot, so if you haven't gotten one yet, you just might want to give it some more serious thought!  I have had so much fun with these framelits.  They are super easy to use, particularly if you want to punch out a previously stamped image.  They come in a sturdy envelope, but I read a great tip that I plan to implement.  The dies are metal, so if you cut a piece of our magnet sheets to fit inside the envelope, you can lay the dies right on the magnet.  This will protect them and keep them from getting bent, plus it makes is super easy to remove them.
