Have you had a chance to play with the new My Digital Studio 2 software yet? Oh my goodness! It is so.much.fun! If you haven't tried it yet, you can download a free 30-day trial of the software here
Every Tuesday, Stampin' Up! releases new digital downloads that you can purchase to add to the software. But, even if you don't own the software, the files come in a JPG format, so you can use them in any program that utilizes JPGs, PNGs and layers such as Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop.

Every week, I plan to share the latest downloads as well as a project that I have created in My Digital Studio. Here is a page from the Disney album that I created last year from our trip in 2010:
This is one of my favorite pages in the album. Elijah was five and a half in these pictures, and I just love the look on his face as he hugs Donald!
This page was super easy to put together, and when I got the album back from our designated printer, the kids just loved looking through it.

I thought I would share with you another sample from the Razzleberry Splash Simply Scrappin Kit. This is one of my favorites:
I'm holding the class this Friday with this kit, and everybody will be making a total of 24 cards. The deadline to sign up was August 17, but I actually have one extra set of supplies available. So, if you wanted to sign up for the class and you didn't get to, now is your chance! The class fee is $40. The first person to email me and let me know you'd like to come, will get it!
I can't wait for this class...I think it is going to be lots of fun and a great way to end the summer.

I don't often show scrapbook pages on my blog, but I thought I'd share a couple of pages I did earlier this year in my scrapbook club:
Aren't they fun and happy? As I recall it was towards the end of winter, and I was looking for something bright and cheerful. Butterflies always make me think of spring, and these were super easy with the Big Shot and embosslit. The little doors can open to reveal surprise journaling or a small picture. Cut a flap in your page protector with an exacto knife so that you can open the doors even when it is in the album.
I offer a scrapbooking club that meets on the third Monday of the month. I'd love to have you join us! Let me know if you would like more information.

I think one thing that is synonymous with Summer time is barbecues and what's a good barbecue without the watermelon?
Materials: Mouthwatering and Perfectly Penned
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade and Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black pad and Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade and Basic Black markers and Versamark
Accessories: Big Shot and Perfect Polka Dots folder, Basic Black ribbon, Melon scented embossing powder, 2 1/2" circle punch, Stampin' Dimensionals
Doesn't it just look good enough to eat? This is card we actually made last spring in one of my stamp clubs. I used Poppy Parade which retired in May, but you could easily substitute Real Red on this card. This is also where I wish there was smell-a-blogging! I embossed the watermelons using the Melon scented embossing powder and they smell so good! The easiest way to do it on this card, is to first color your stamps with the markers and then stamp them on the white cardstock. Then, take your versamark pad and pat it all over the image and emboss.
Another sweet tip with this card is that the watermelon is exactly sized to the 2 1/2" circle punch. So, you can stamp the watermelon, line up the punch with the rind and punch, and then trim the excess paper straight across the top. Easy-peasy!

There is only two days left to register for my Simply Scrappin' Card class!

Date: Friday, August 31, 2012
Time: 7:00pm
Where: Michelle's house
Class fee: $40, prepaid by August 17
You will be making a total of 24 cards (two each of twelve designs) using half of a Simply Scrappin' kit. I have had a few people comment that they are concerned about finishing that many cards in one evening. The Simply Scrappin' kit makes it super easy, plus, I plan to give you a packet with copies of the samples and some tips for each card. If you are really concerned, you can make one of each of the cards and then just do the necessary stamping and punching for the other ones. Then, you can assemble them when you get home.
You can either register by mailing me a check, or you can also call me and pay with a credit card.
I'm excited about this class, and I hope to see you there!

Many of you know that one of my other jobs is as a birth doula. I was at a birth last month, and when I met with the mom postpartum I brought her a nice hand stamped card (of course!). I thought I'd share that card with you today:
Materials: Baby Prints
Cardstock: Whisper White and Pink Pirouette
Ink: Pink Pirouette and Primrose Petals
Accessories: Big Shot and Fancy Fan embossing folder and Apothecary Accents framelits; Primrose Petals ribbon, Basic pearls, Sponge daubers, and Stampin' Dimensionals
As you can tell, she had a baby girl, and I had fun making a pretty, girlie card. Although, this would be totally appropriate for a boy if you changed the colors to blue and left off the pearls. One of my favorite things lately is the white on white layering effect, and I think it works especially well on this baby card.
