3-D Project Friday: Snowman Tealight

Can you believe that today is the last day of November.  This month has absolutely flown by!  Now that Thanksgiving has past, we are definitely in full Christmas mode.  Today's project definitely plays into that:

Isn't he cute?  We did these in my group meeting this month, and he was so cute that I think I'm going to make them for teacher's gifts.  He uses one of those battery operated tea lights and then you dress him up with punches.  His eyes and mouth are pearls that I colored with a black sharpie.

Then, to complete the gift, we needed a little box to put him in:

Yep...he's definitely cute.  I think I'll add a Dunkin Donuts gift card, and my teacher gifts are done!

I think this is definitely one of my favorite sets out of the Holiday catalog.  It's just so....Maine!  I've had fun playing with it, and I just love this natural looking combination of vanilla and crumb cake.  You can't see if very well, but after I ran the layer through the embossing folder, I sponged it with crumb cake ink to soften it up a bit.  Just gorgeous!

Gingerbread and Candy Canes

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I know I did.  We spent Thanksgiving Day with my extended family and then had a very restful weekend.  One of our traditions is to always set up our Christmas tree over Thanksgiving weekend, so we pulled that out on Friday.

Today, I have a fun sample to share with you.  This is an idea I got from another demonstrator that I swapped with on my recent trip to Hilton Head Island with Stampin' Up!  As soon as I saw it, I knew it would make a great Stamp a Stack card.  I didn't have everything she had used, so I can home and I made it my own:

Materials: Jolly Bing Bits and Perfect Punches

Card stock: Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White

Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green and Soft Suede

Accessories: Big Shot and Lacy Brocade TEIF, Extra Large Oval punch, Large Oval punch, Decorative Lable punch, Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Ribbon, Stampin' Sponge, Stampin' Dimensionals

Isn't it fun?  I just love the colors and the clean look to the card.  And, I'll tell you what, if you haven't already purchased the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, you absolutely must!  I haven't been able to stop using it all fall long.  It is available in the Holiday catalog, but it will be carried over into the Spring catalog.  Phew!  That's a relief...I think I'd be lost without it!

3-D Project Friday: Wedding place cards

We have an older lady in our church who is getting remarried this weekend.  Recently, her daughter asked me if I could do some simple place cards to be put out at the reception.  I was thrilled to work on this project for her:

They are simple little place cards and they didn't take me more than an hour or so to make, but what an elegant touch they will add to the reception!   I just love that Brocade Embossing Folder.  It is most definitely not just a Christmas folder.  I was nearly done and they felt like they still needed something.  That's when I tried the paper piercing.  That was the final touch these little place cards needed.

One of the new products in the holiday catalog that I've been having a lot of fun with is the Scalloped Tulle Ribbon.  As soon as I saw it, I had a vision of a card flash in my mind.  Would you like to see what I saw in my mind's eye?

Materials: Delightful Dozen

Card stock: Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red and Very Vanilla

Ink: Riding Hood Red

Accessories: Big Shot and Petals a Plenty Embossing folder and Labels Collection Framelits; Crumb Cake Scalloped Tulle Ribbon, Sticky Strip and Stampin' Dimensionals

This look was actually fairly easy to achieve.  First I put down a piece of Sticky Strip along the center of the Riding Hood Red card stock.  Then I took a piece of the tulle and laid it on top, scalloping it as I went along.  Because the tulle has holes, the sticky strip was actually able to grab through multiple layers.  Finally, I wrapped and adhered the tulle on the back on both sides.  I find that it is difficult to cut the tulle without it looking a bit ragged and this helped to create a more finished look.

The second things I want to draw your attention too is the focal point word image. Well, not the image itself, but the card stock it is stamped on.  I listed the Lables Collection framelits among the materials lists, and I can just see you looking back and forth between your framelits and my card trying to figure out where that framelit is in the set.  Well...it isn't, exactly.  But it is super easy to create.  Pick one of the framelits and cut it out.  Then take your cut card stock and reposition the framelit to make it a more narrow piece.  See...super easy!

3-D Project Friday: Chinese Take out box

Happy Friday!  I've got another fun 3-d project for you:

Isn't it adorable?  I bet you can't figure out where this comes from?

I used my Big Shot and the petal cone die to make this fantastic take out box.  Cut out two of the petal cones and then cut the bottom inch or so off.  Create a score line so you can fold the bottom up and there you have it!

These little boxes can obiously be embellished however you would like.  This box is sitting and waiting to go to my next private card class hostess.  Could that be you?

Cash and Carry adhesive
