I first got this idea from a demonstrator friend of mine, Cindy Kugell, but I used it several times in classes and clubs last spring. I think it is just so happy looking!
Now is the time to stock up on all the fabulous papers we have while you can get one for free!
If you have ever been a pet owner, then you will understand how difficult a day today is. Today we are making the decision to have our dog put down.
My husband and I got Maggie sixteen years ago, before we even had any children. I wanted a larger dog and he wanted a smaller dog, so we were trying to compromise with a medium dog!
We called around to various shelters and when we called Bangor, they told us they had a litter of Beagle-Lab pups. We couldn't imagine what a Beagle-Lab (or a Blab as we affectionately referred to it) would look like, so we made the drive.
When we got to the shelter there were six puppies in all. Five of them were right up at the front of the cage, clamoring for attention. But the last one, was huddled quietly in the back. We looked at the attendant and said "We would like to see that one"---pointing to the back.
We fell immediately in love! Maggie has been an amazing pet. We never once had to worry about her around our children, and even in these later years around our young nieces and nephews. She has been nothing but gentle and has asked for nothing but our love.
It breaks my heart, but we have come to the conclusion that the loving thing is to give her a peaceful send off. She has had a difficult couple of years.
Last night I made this card for her. I can't take credit for it...I saw the original concept on Mary Fish's blog. As soon as I saw it, I knew I needed to make one:
Farewell sweet Maggie! You will be missed and never forgotten.
I'm back from convention and I finally feel like I'm getting myself put back together. It always takes me a bit after I've been traveling. This time, my travel plans were extended for a day. My friend and I got to the airport, and they were looking for sixteen volunteers to bump off the flight. We knew we probably wouldn't make our connection anyway, so we took it. The airline put us up in a hotel room for the night and we each got a $500 voucher. Not bad...I've already got my airfare for next year paid for!
Anyway...I've got an exciting new product to share with you that was revealed at convention. It is called Undefined. Have you ever wanted a very specific stamp and you couldn't find it? Well, now you can create your own! Here's a great video from the home office explaining it:
Undefined is a stamp carving kit. You can use the provided templates, or you can create your own image. It could be the logo of your favorite team, a school mascot, or anything else that has special personal meaning. Imagine creating cards and projects with an image that is uniquely yours!
Undefined is available now and can be purchased by going to my webstore here.
The other thing that is going on is a promotion on My Paper Pumpkin! My Paper Pumpkin is our monthly subscription service. Every month you get a surprise box mailed right to you containing all the stamps, ink and paper you will need for a quick, creative escape. Regularly, $19.95 (plus tax), if you sign up by August 31, you will get your first two months of Paper Pumpkin for only $10 (plus tax!) That is incredible!
You can get more information by clicking this link. Make sure you enter the promo code PUMPKINDEAL at checkout to get your first two kits at half price. You must sign up by the 10th of the month to get in on that month's mailings and you can cancel at any time.
Finally, I thought I'd show you a fun picture of all the goodies I brought home from convention:
There were more prize patrols then ever this year. As a matter of fact, in a nod to our 25th anniversary, there were 25 prize patrols, and everybody won a prize patrol at some point. The final prize patrol was a special one. It went to 25 people, and they got every single stamp set in the Holiday catalog! I wasn't one of those winners, but you can see my prize patrol right behind the Paper Pumpkin box. I won the Very Merry Tags set and the Decorative Label Punch.
Here's one more fun picture I took:
I snapped it really quickly so it is a little out of focus. At the close of the last general session, they dropped silver confetti from the ceiling. It was really cool!
I'd love to have any of you join me in Salt Lake City next year for our convention! You can test drive the starter kit with no obligation for only $99, plus right now, you get to add your choice of project kits from the Holiday catalog for free!
Today I've got the last video in the batch that I just finished uploading. It is from my June stamp club, and that month we did a technique that I called Swipe Embossed Background:
This is actually a really fun technique that looks a lot harder than it is. There are a couple of ways that you can approach it and show you both in the video:
My next round of clubs is preparing to begin in August and I do have openings. As part of club, you agree to make a minimum purchase of $15 a month for ten months, and then one of those months you get a minimum of $25 in free products! If you would like to participate, please let me know!
This video is from my May stamp club. That month we learned a technique called Ghosting:
Because May was retiring month, this card features a lot of products that are now retired, so I won't list the supplies.
The trick to this technique is to make your sponging fairly dark and spray your stamp fairly wet. But be careful...after you've sprayed your stamp a few times, the stamp gets a little slippery on the block!
I hope you enjoyed this video! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send me a note!
I'm more than a little behind in getting the videos done for my stamp clubs, but I've finally got myself mostly caught up. I still need to film the video for the technique we did this month, but I've got that on my calendar for next week when I get home.
In the meantime, I'll be posting the last three over the next few days. That should entertain you nicely whilst I'm gone to convention!
Here's the first one that we did in my April Club. The technique is called Kissing.
Beginning today until August 31, you can get your choice of project kits for FREE when your purchase the starter kit.
Three of these project kits aren't even available until the Holiday catalog goes live on August 1. How exciting is that?! The starter kit is a fabulous deal. You get to choose $125 in products for only $99 (plus you get to choose your free project kit!). Then you get to test drive the benefits of being part of Stampin Up until the end of your first full quarter (December 31).
At the end of your first full quarter, if you sold or purchased $300 in products, you will then renew for another three months. If you haven't, no worries! The products you have are still yours to keep with no further obligation.
Among some of the benefits you will enjoy is access to the Stampin' Connection, a demonstrator only forum with discussion forums and where hundreds of samples get shared every day! You will also get a 20% discount on all orders that you place.
Or, if you would like to make enough money to take a vacation or pay one bill a month, then Stampin Up can fill that need to! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. If you're ready to purchase the kit, then you can click here to be taken to my website.
I don't know about you, but I can always use a little something new to spruce up my house. As soon as I saw the vase of flowers our concept artists created using the new Flower Show bundle, I knew I needed to offer that as a class.

With a new month, come new specials, and I've got lots to share with you today!
First off, our latest installment in the Best of Series:
Shelli Gardner is the co-founder and CEO of Stampin' Up! I've met her personally several times, and she is a delightful lady. The images in this set follow her signature look. I can't wait to add this one to my collection!
Next up, we have the latest installment in the Photopolymer line:
Developed for vacation projects, the Settin' Sail set will give you far more than that. I just love those little banners. Wouldn't they be cute on a birthday card?
Next, we have the July special:
If you are a paper junkie like I am, then this special is for you! By any three packages of our beautiful Designer Series Paper and get the fourth one for FREE! (Paper stacks and Specialty paper not included). What a great deal! We have some amazing papers in our catalog this year....good thing there are no limits on this offer!
Finally, over the weekend, Stampin' Up! released another online class:
Washi tape is the latest "it" thing and I've seen some really cool projects with it. But, I've got to admit, I've felt rather at a loss as to how to incorporate it into my projects. I'm definitely going to get this class. The class features more than 30 projects with lots of tips and videos to get you using washi tape like a pro. Get the class for $14.95 or purchase the class in a bundle with twelve rolls of Washi tape (six of them aren't even available until August 1!) and a package of note cards and envelopes. All that for only $36.95.
Tomorrow night is my open club night. If you'd like to check out what we do in stamp club, please feel free to join us. We meet at 7:00 at my house in Auburn.
