December Virtual Class

It's time to talk about December's virtual class!

Here's how the virtual classes work.  Each month, I will design three cards that will comprise that month's class.  To participate, you need to place an order online of at least $25 using the special hostess code.  Orders must be placed by December 21 to qualify.  

By December 28, I will put a package in the mail to you containing the materials for your three cards.  Everything will be prestamped, punched and ready to assemble.  I will also include step by step instructions and I will email you a link to private videos showing you how to assemble the cards.  You will also receive a free gift from me just for participating!

There is no monthly obligation on these classes.  You can participate whichever months you would like.

Hmm...no samples.  Here's the deal.  The Occasions catalog launches on January 3.  I wanted the December cards to be sneak peak cards using new products from that catalog.  However, I can't preorder until December 1, so I don't even know what this month's samples will be.

Christmas Collectibles Card

Ok...say that ten times fast!  Here's a simple, yet elegant card made with the Christmas Collectibles set.  This is a card we did in my Quick and Easy class earlier this fall, and it would be a perfect one if you haven't gotten started on your cards yet:

Materials: Christmas Collectibles bundle (with Christmas Ornament punch) and Greetings of the Season

Card stock: Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke, Real Red, and Very vanilla

Ink: Always Artichoke and Real Red

Accessories: Linen Thread and Stampin' Dimensionals

You can't tell from this photo, but this is a tent card.  Instead of cutting the card stock in half the short way, I cut it in half the long way (4 1/4" x 11").  I love doing that style of card.  I think it instantly dresses the card up.

It's a merry, merry Christmas!

I thought that today I would show you another card that I created using the new Expressions Thinlits:

Materials: Snowflake Soiree

Card stock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake

Ink: Whisper White

Accessories: Big Shot, Expressions Thinlits, Tombow Multipurpose glue

This is a card we created at my Quick and Easy class last month.  It's fairly simple, but good things come in simple packages, right?

The trick to using the Expressions Thinlits is to use a piece of wax paper with it.  So, your sandwich from bottom to top would be cutting plate, paper, wax paper, thinlit (cutting ridge down), cutting plate.  The wax paper helps the thin little words to release more easily.

The other trick I will pass along is to use the Tombow Multipurpose adhesive to adhere it.  I squeeze my glue just so that I've got a little bit on the very tip.  Then I touch it on various spots on the words.  It's just enough to adhere it without being messy.

Create a beautiful paper wreath!

If you've been anywhere on the internet in the last couple of months, then surely you've seen the paper wreaths.  I made one about a month ago, and I've had quite a lot of interest in it, so I've decided to hold a class.

Paper Wreath Class:

Date: Tuesday, December 17

Time: 7:00pm

Place: Michelle's House

Cost: $30, or $38 including a bone folder

RSVP:  Paid RSVP's are due by December 5

These wreaths are super cute and so easy to make!  Your class fee includes all the materials to create the winter wreath, but I think it would look great in any combination of papers.  

If you have your own bone folder, please bring it.  We use the bone folder to curl all the pieces of paper.  I do have a couple of extras, but if you'd like me to add a bone folder to your class fee, let me know.

New Photopolymer Set: Eye Catching Ikat

Today Stampin' Up! released another set in the Photopolymer series called Eye Catching Ikat:

It's got a fun Southwestern flair to it and would make some pretty cool cards!  You can order it by going here and it is $13.95 as are all the other Photopolymer sets.

I also thought I'd share another Christmas Card with you.  Today's card is one that we made at my stamp a stack class last month:

Technique Video: Velveteen Stamping

I was filming my video for my stamp club technique today and I realized that I never shared the video from last month! This is the card we created:

Materials: Fabulous Florets, En Francais and Express Yourself

Card stock: Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White

Ink: Pear Pizzazz and Perfect Plum classic pads and Whisper White craft pad

Accessories: Extra Large Oval punch, Large Oval punch, Pear Pizzazz Taffeta ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

The technqiue is called Velveteen stamping.  You can't see it really well in the photo, although you can kind of pick it out in the leaves.  The effect is created by stamping in white ink on white card stock.  Once it dries, you stamp over it with your solid image.
