Fill a Card Box Series

I am so excited to announce a new class series that I will be holding starting in February.  I'm calling it the Fill a Card Box series.

Each month, we will make twelve cards (three each of four designs), centered around a theme, plus we will decorate an empty wood mount stamp case to hold them in.  You can attend one class or you can attend them all, but either way you will have a whole batch of cards ready to go!

The first class will be held on Wednesday, February 19 and we will be making Birthday cards.  Here's a sample of one of the cards:

The class fee is $30 if prepaid by February 17 or $35 paid at the door.

In case you'd like to mark your calendar, here are the dates and themes for the rest of the series:  Friday, March 21 (masculine cards); Friday, April 18 (sympathy cards); Friday, May 16 (thank you cards)

I'm also happy to offer this class to go. I will mail you the supplies all pre cut along with a photocopy of the sample.  I will NOT be able to prestamp any images for you, so if you don't have the same stamps, you will need to be able to make subtitutions.  Alternatively, if you'd like me to stamp the cards and mail you completed cards, I can do that for an additional fee. 

You can order a "to go" kit for an additional $5 to cover mailing costs.  If you'd like me to mail you the completed cards, that will be another $5.

A Whole Plethora of New Products!

Yesterday was a big day in Stampin' Up!  I have all kinds of new things to share with you that were released.

Technique Video: Thumping

Today, I have another technique video for you.  This the technique we did in my January stamp club, and it is called Thumping.

Here's the card we made:

Stamps: Flowerful Heart and Love You More

Card stock: Whisper White, Real Red, Melon Mambo, and Pink Pirouette

Ink: Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo pads and Real Red, Melon Mambo and Raspberry Ribble markers

Acccessories: Big Shot, Fancy Fan embossing folder, Heart Framelits, Curly Label punch, Whisper White Organza ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

The thumping technique is fairly simple, but packs a big punch.  It's really pretty on this heart, and it would also be really nice in the fall on leaves.  Can't you just see some pretty fall colors?

Tutorial: Valentine's Day Wall Hanging

Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and I have a tutorial for you today for a fun wall hanging that will spice up your decorating!

This wall hanging was first featured on the cover of our Stampin' Success magazine, and I new as soon as I saw it that I needed to do a tutorial for it.

This was a super fun project.  Probably the most complicated thing was laying out the hearts in a fashion that I was happy with.  I've created a PDF with step by step directions that you can download here.

Stamping fun!

Last week, I did something I'd never really done before.  I had a virtual stamping time with three demonstrator friends.

One friend was at my house with me, I was Skyping with another friend in Minnesota, and the third was at her house in Southern Maine on FaceTime.  We stamped like this for almost six hours and it was so.much.fun!

I think I got eight or nine cards stamped during that time.  One person would work on a card and share it with the rest of us, and then we'd start copying.  Then somebody else would share another sample, and so on!  We enjoyed it so much, we are planning to do it again this week!

Here's one of the cards we made:

I think this was one of my favorites.  My friend, Ruth, designed it, although she took inspiration from a sample she saw online.  I didn't think I needed the Hardwood background stamp.  Thankfully, Kathy had it and the stamp just went on my last order!

Happy Watercolor card

At the beginning of December, I held my annual hostess appreciation bash.  This exclusive event is just for my hostesses and stamp club members, and we always have a fantastic time!

I always create a special project for them to do, often using products from the upcoming catalog as a sneak peek.  Here is one of the cards that we created:

Materials: Happy Watercolor

I think this Happy Watercolor set is one of my favorites from this catalog.  There are so many things you can do with.  And I love, love, love the new Tag Topper punches.  I love to make tags of various sizes, but I was always frustrated trying to get the top of my tag to come out right.  Now I end up with a perfect tag, every time!

Have you tried My Paper Pumpkin?

Right before Christmas, I got my Paper Pumpkin kit.  I'm always excited to see that orange box in my mailbox.  I bring it in and then the debate begins....do I tear right into and and see what my kit is for this month? or do I wait a few more minutes and savor the anticipation?
