Secret Garden Birthday Card

The old catalog is winding down and we are gearing up for the new catalog which goes live on June 2.  It is such an exciting time at Stampin' Up!  Before we start to focus on the new, I wanted to share a card I did with a retiring set.

This card features the Secret Garden stamp set and framelits.  It is actually a birthday card that I made for my sister-in-law last year:

I'm honestly not even sure exactly all that I used on this card.  I can tell you that the colors are Elegant Eggplant with Pear Pizzaz, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight.  It also has the butterfly from Papillion Potpourri.

This is one of the cards I designed for my sympathy card last month and I really liked it.  As a matter of fact, I ended up using it for a friend who lost his dad.  I can't remember exactly what size the vanilla square is, but I *think* it was 3x3.

Project Life!

Before I start this post, let me just say one thing.  I am not a scrapbooker.  I've always wanted to be a scrapbooker, I wanted to have our pictures in a format that we could enjoy, but I found the process too overwhelming and I just didn't enjoy it.

Enter Project Life.  About a month ago, Stampin' Up announced that they had partnered with Becky Higgins to offer official Project Life products.  I looked at what our inital offerings would be, did some googling on Becky Higgins, and I was intrigued.

I placed my preorder and the products came in five days before we left for our cruise.  I was a little bit more excited when I had the actual products in my hands, but I still was a little unsure of how this would work for me.

So, we went on the cruise and I came home and decided that I would hold a Project Life workshop to introduce it to my friends and customers.  I wanted to have a completed page that I could add to the invite, so I picked out some pictures from the cruise and sat down to create my page.  Oh.my.goodness.  Can you say instant, unabashed, and complete LOVE!  

This...this is a system I can do.  The concept behind Project Life is to be able to document your life and put your photos into an album quickly and easily, so they can be enjoyed and you can, well, get on WITH your life!  It seriously took me longer to select my photos and print them, then it did to put the page together.  Would you like to see my page?

Simply Sketched Sympathy Card

One of my favorite hostess sets this year was the Simply Sketched set.  The images were beautiful and it had nice sentiments in it as well...the total package!

This is a card that I designed early on that we did in my classes:

Materials: Simply Sketched

Card stock: Elegant Eggplant (5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scrap for punching), Wisteria Wonder (5 1/4" x 4") and Whisper White (scrap for punching)

Ink: Elegant Eggplant

Accessories: Decorative Label Punch, White Baker's Twine, Stampin' Dimensionals

May 2014 Virtual Card Class

It's time for another Virtual Card Class!  If you can't come to a class then the class can come to you!

Here's how it works.  Place an order online of at least $25 using the special hostess code by May 21st and you will be eligible for this month's class.  By the 26th, I will mail you a package containing the materials for three cards along with step by step instructions.  

Everything will be all stamped, punched and ready for you to assemble.  I will also email you three video showing you how to assemble the cards. Every virtual card class order also gets a special gift from me!

Birthday cake card

We are in full swing of the retired list now, and I've got a bunch of samples that I'd like to show you before they expire!  So let's get started!

This is a card I did last summer for one of my Quick and Easy classes and it's been floating around in my file ever since:

Materials: Birthday Cake

Card stock: Gumball Green (5 1/2" x 8 1/2"), Crumb Cake (5 1/4" x 4"), Very Vanilla ( 3" x 3") card stock and Epic Day Designer Series Paper (5 1/4" x 3")

Ink: Crumb Cake, Gumball Green, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight markers

Accessories: 2 1/2" circle punch, Crumb Cake taffeta ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals
