Join a Virtual Stamp Club!

I am so excited to announce that I am launching a virtual stamp club!  

How does a virtual club work?

Have you ever thought you might like to join a stamp club, but you felt like you just didn't have the time to attend a monthly class?  Do you love to stamp and are looking for ways to gradually add to your stamp collection?  Do you like free tutorials, free videos and free products?  If you answered yes to any of those, then my virtual stamp club is for you!

Here are the details.  Each month, you will commit to placing a $35 order (before tax and shipping).  The order will be placed online, using that month's hostess code, on my website here Orders must be placed by the 25th of the month and will ship right to you.  Your virtual club commitment lasts for six months.  At the end of six months, you will be able to choose $20 in free product.  To redeem your free product order, you will email me your selections, and I will get them to you.  You must place your order each month for six months in order to qualify for the $20 in product.  If you miss a month, you will forfeit your bonus.

Each month, I will design four cards.  I will create a step-by-step tutorial as well as videos for each card to go along with the tutorial.  Within 48 hours of when you place your monthly order, I will email you the tutorial and the links to the videos (each card will be a separate video).  Club members will also qualify for my monthly card tutorial featuring six cards designed around one bundle.  

If you don't want to join the virtual club, but you would like the tutorial, you may purchase just the tutorial or the tutorial with videos.  The price each month is determined by the length of the tutorial.  If you would like to purchase the tutorial, please send me an email at michelle@breton.us and I will send you an invoice. Once I have received payment, I will email you the PDF and the links to the videos.  You can also purchase a card kit so that you can create that month's cards.  The card kit will include all card stock pre-cut, punched and embossed as well as any other accessories used.  The kit will not include any stamped images per Stampin' Up! regulations.  Again, if you would like to purchase that month's card kit, email me and I will send you an invoice.

You may join the virtual club at any time.  If you join before the 25th of the month and place your first order, you will get that month's tutorials, otherwise, you will begin the following month.  At the end of your six months, if you would like to renew, simply email me to let me know.  To sign up to join virtual stamp club, send me an email at michelle@breton.us.  All club members will get a free gift upon joining.

Prized Peony Friendship Card

Peonies are in bloom right now!  I don't have a peony bush of my own, but I've been seeing them everywhere.  The 3-D effect of the peony that can be created using the peony dies caught my eye right away when I saw it in the new catalog.

Materials

• Stamps: Prized Peony
• Ink: Early Espresso, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz
• Card stock:
•     Pear Pizzazz (5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scraps for die cutting)
•     Mango Melody (5 1/2" x 2 3/4")
•     Magenta Madness (5 1/2" x  4 1/4")
•     Mossy Meadow (scrap for die cutting)
•     Early Espresso (scrap for die cutting)

The peony goes together much more easily than I anticipated.  It is comprised of four separate pieces, and you can fit all four pieces on a 1/4 sheet of card stock. Once they are cut, I add a little color to the tips with a sponge dauber.  Then each piece slides inside the others and they are secured on the back.  If you like the peony set as much as I do, I'll give you a little hint that the peony bundle is the focus of my free tutorial for next month.

Ornate Style Daisy Card

I think daises are one of the happiest flowers out there.  There is just something about the way they stand proudly with all their petals spread wide open to reveal the center.  This card has lots of daisies!

•     Accessories: Ornate Layers Dies, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Mango Melody Light and Dark Blends, Old Olive Light and Dark Blends, Bronze Blends, Bumblebee 1/4" Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

I really like the combination of the new Bumblebee card stock with the Old Olive and Espresso.  I pulled the colors right from the designer series paper, but it gives the card such a warm look.  The Ornate Layers dies can be a little fussy, but the end result is so worth it.  The trick is to make sure you roll them through your die cutting machine several times to make sure that the die has cut all the way through.

My Favorite Things Video

My Virtual Open House continues through Sunday, June 28.  As promised, I created a video showing some of my favorite things from the new catalog:

Butterfly Gala Birthday Card

A couple of weeks ago, we celebrated my niece's 5th birthday.  When I sat down to create her card, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, but then I decided to focus on butterflies.

I started by stamping and punching my butterflies, and I knew that I wanted to place them on a white background, but it took me a while to figure out the colors I wanted to use for the card itself.  I think I tried four or five different combinations before I settled on this one.  I was Zoom stamping with some friends, and their input was invaluable!  Finally, I added the embossing to the background which gave it just enough texture to make it interesting.  The moral of the story is that if something just doesn't feel right when you are creating, keep trying different things until you land on something you do like!

It's June, and the new catalog is out.  This is the time of the year when I would traditionally hold my open house to showcase new products and sell off some of my old.  I can't hold the open house in person, so instead, I'm going to do it virtually!  This virtual open house will run from Saturday, June 20- Sunday, June 28.

Sailing Home for Dad

Father's Day is just around the corner, and today's card would be great for that occasion or any other masculine   card needs you may have.

The main color card stock on this card is the new Misty Moonlight.  I'm loving this shade of blue.  It is a deep slate blue and it pairs really nicely with the Smoky Slate card stock.  I've had this set for a while, but it was the first time I'd really played with the dies.  I think the rope provides a nice accent across the middle of the card and ties in nicely with the knot die cut that I added below the sailboat.

Today's card features another new bundle, the Jar of Flowers bundle, as well as some of the new In Colors.

This set is another of the new reversible sets.  I first stamped the outline of the jar in Memento Black ink and then I flipped the stamp over and stamped the solid image in Balmy Blue (stamped off once so that it would be lighter.  Then I was able to add the stems.  The great thing about the reversible sets is that you get increased versatility with the same number of stamps.

Mountain Air Birthday Card

Last week was my oldest son's 22nd birthday.  When I sat down to make him a card, I decided to pull out the Mountain Air set.  I got this right away in January when in came out in the seasonal catalog, but I hadn't had a chance to play with it.

This set is one of the new reversible sets, and it was the first time I tried one.  First I stamped the details of the mountains.  Then I cleaned the stamp, flipped it over and remounted it to my block.  Then I was able to use use the backside to stamp the shading of the mountains.  I used Seaside Spray and the first time I stamped the image full strength and the second time I stamped off once first so it would be a little lighter.
