I'm not sure what I find so appealing with working with stamp sets that convey facets of nature.  Whatever it is, I'm enjoying the Beauty of Friendship bundle.  Trees are especially fun because you can change them to reflect different seasons.  This card is perfect for the height of summer and is a great way to send warm wishes to a friend.

This is another card that I created with my friend, Ruth, when we got together to stamp at the beginning of July.  The focus on this card, really, is the adorable Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper.  What is really nice about this paper is that if you aren't totally sold on the animals on one side, the other side has neutral designs in classic colors.  This makes it really versatile.

There are so many different ways that you can use the Soft Pastels.  Recently, Stampin' Up shared on Instagram a way that you can stamp with them, and I was intrigued.  I gave it a try, and it really isn't that hard.  I tried it on Thick Basic White, Shimmery White and the Watercolor Paper and I thought all of them came out equally nice.  The other thing I did different was that the original instructions said to spritz the stamp again after you add the pastels, but I found it wasn't necessary and actually made the stamp more wet than I liked.  I would encourage you to give this one a try.

The Harvest Meadow Suite is in the July-December catalog, and it is just filled with images that are classic and timeless.  This card looks complex at first glance, but comes together fairly quickly with some simple stamping and the help of the Harvest Meadow Designer Series paper.  I finished it off with some of the Gold Shimmer Ribbon which is quickly becoming one of my new favorites!

This card was designed by my friend, Ruth, and is one of the first cards I did in which I finally completed one of the pansies.  There are lots of little pieces on these pansies, but they are so pretty when they are complete.  If you are just trying the pansy set, I suggest that you copy a sample so that you can get a feel of which pieces get layered where.  I also created a video showing you how to assemble the pansy which you can find here.

In today's Learn to Stamp video, I'm showing you how to create a background by sponging through your masks:

 

I've had these Decorative Masks for a while and I don't often think to pull them out, but they work perfectly in this card with the Intricate Leaves Dies.  I used my Blending Brushes to sponge color through the mask. You can put as much or as little color as you would like.  I chose to keep the background more subtle and having shading on the trees, but if I'd kept going, I could've made the trees bolder which would have given the card an entirely different look.
