Ornate Style Daisy Card

I think daises are one of the happiest flowers out there.  There is just something about the way they stand proudly with all their petals spread wide open to reveal the center.  This card has lots of daisies!

Materials

• Stamps: Ornate Style and Ornate Thanks
• Ink: Memento Black and Early Espresso
• Card stock:
•     Bumblebee (5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and 3" x 4")
•     Early Espresso (4" x 5 1/4")
•     Old Olive (3" x 4")
•     Whisper White (1 1/8" x 2 1/2" and 1 1/2" x 3")
•     Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper (5 1/8" x 3 7/8")
•     Accessories: Ornate Layers Dies, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Mango Melody Light and Dark Blends, Old Olive Light and Dark Blends, Bronze Blends, Bumblebee 1/4" Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

I really like the combination of the new Bumblebee card stock with the Old Olive and Espresso.  I pulled the colors right from the designer series paper, but it gives the card such a warm look.  The Ornate Layers dies can be a little fussy, but the end result is so worth it.  The trick is to make sure you roll them through your die cutting machine several times to make sure that the die has cut all the way through.

Share Happiness with this Beautiful Bouquet Card

It has been so nice to see the sunshine a bit more, and to experience warmer weather.  It does so much to lift much spirits.  In much the same way, this bright and happy card just makes me smile.

Materials

• Stamps: Beautiful Bouquet
• Ink: Melon Mambo, Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight
• Card stock:
•     Melon Mambo (8 1/2" x 5 1/2")
•     Whisper White (3/4" x 5" (4) and a scrap for punching)
•     Mango Melody (3/4" x 3 1/2")
•     Coastal Cabana (2 3/4" x 2")
• Accessories: 1 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Story Label Punch, Holiday Rhinestones, Stampin' Dimensionals

 

This card looks more complicated than it really is.  I cut my four strips of white card stock first, laid them side by side and did my stamping before mounting them to the Melon Mambo base.  Alternatively, you could cut one piece of white card stock to 3"x 5", stamp it and then cut it into 3/4" wide strips.  I hand cut the edges of the Mango Melody strip to create the banner.

Both the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and the 1 3/8" Scallop Circle punch will be retiring on June 2.  The punch is actually on sale for $6.40, so you'll want to get them both now.

2020 In Colors Scrappy Card

Today's card features our five new In Colors to create a scrappy background.  From left to right they are called Bumble Bee, Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight, Cinnamon Cider and Just Jade.  Aren't they pretty!

Materials

• Ink: Night of Navy
• Card stock:
•     Cinnamon Cider (8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and 3/4" x 4")
•     Whisper White (4" x 5 1/4", 3 3/4" x 5" and 1" x 4 1/4")
•     Bumble Bee (3/4" x 4")
•     Magenta Madness (3/4" x 4")
•     Misty Moonlight (3/4" x 4")
•     Just Jade (3/4" x 4")
• Accessories: Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, Just Jade 1/4" Ribbon, Champagne Rhinestones, Stampin' Dimensionals

While the card might look complicated, it really isn't. I started with 3/4" strips of each of the in colors of card stock and then I cut them at odd angles.  I didn't worry about being overly precise, but rather I just eyeballed it.  Then I attached them all to a piece of Whisper White card stock cut to 3 3/4" x 5".  The strips will be longer than the white card stock, but once they were all in place I just trimmed it all down to make it even.  Then you attach that to a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" card stock, which gives it the overall border.  I thought it was a rather fun way to show off all the new In Colors.

Happy Watercolor tag card

Happy Thursday!  Hasn't this warmer weather been just glorious?

Today I want to share a card with you that we actually did in my stamp clubs back in January.  It features the Happy Watercolor set and the tag topper punch:

Materials: Happy Watercolor

Paper: Crisp Canteloupe card stock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2",  Watercolor Wonder DSP - 3" x 4", and Whisper White card stock - 2" x 4"

Ink: Crisp Canteloupe and Early Espresso

Accessories: Gold Sequin Trim, Angled Tag Topper punch, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Stampin' Dimensionals

This was a great card to make in the middle of winter when cold and white was all we could see.  I like it even more now that Spring is starting to shake itself out.   I took the colors for this card right from the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper.  That paper is simply gorgeous and when you use it, you can have a card done in a flash!

Free Convention 2014 registration

This card features the Saleabration set Petal Parade, and I think it was one of my favorites this time.  It also features the embossing folder Decorative Dots.  I've had so much fun with this folder! I'm going to be sad when it's gone!

It also features the Angled Tag Topper punch, another one of my new favorites.  A little tip. The bed of the punch is 2" wide, so that is the maximum you want to cut your card stock.  However, I have found it's better to cut your card stock just shy of 2".  It makes it much easier to fit into the punch.

Isn't this a fun card?  I can't remember where I saw this sample, but I knew right away I wanted to copy it!  I think I may have changed the colors, but the basic layout is the same. 

I am finding that because the flower is not symmetrical, you need to fiddle a little bit with the image to get it to line up with the punch.  The more I play with it, though, the better I'm getting at guessing which way to stamp the image for easier punching!

I also like that this is one of the items that you can get as a bundle.  When you purchase both the stamp set and the punch, you save 15%.  What could be better!

Fresh Vintage
